A lot of people shared their company's blogging/social media policy on Jeremiah Owyang's blog: http://www.web-strategist.com/blog/2008/04/04/the-variance-of-corporate-social-media-policies/

Len: Sounds like you've got a good, sensible policy at EMC. And "Be careful" is just awesome! You cannot get simpler and clearer than that, can you?

As for being yourself: that's crucial in the blogosphere, isn't it? No one wants to read or respond to postings made by a corporation. The whole point is to be talking to a *person*.

Glad you like my blog. I really enjoy reading yours, too.

Ameel - Nice blog. I've been following it for a bit.

At EMC - we have a policy for blogging publicly - but it somewhat mimics our terms of use for any e-asset. No long list of what you can / can't say... No forced look & feel, etc. I like the approach as it's short and simple - and let's employees be themselves... After all, that's the point of a blog, right?

I won't site the company, but a friend at a Fortune 100 tech company recently shared their blog policy which I absolutely loved.... Two words - Be careful.

Keep up the good work
